Why humane wildlife removal is beneficial to the homeowner

A lot of customers are curious as to why (when we can), we would opt to humanely remove wildlife and pests from the home as opposed to extermination. Aside from the obvious, which is that humane removal is cruelty free, there are actually other, super beneficial reasons why you should select humane removal over the alternative.

Taking at look at homeowner live-trapping/poisoning the animal:

  1. It can actually take longer to capture(trap) a wild animal.
  2. By trapping, babies are usually left behind to die.
  3. Traps and poison don’t fix the underlying issue of how the pest gained entry to your residence.
  4. Traps create a long, slow, and very cruel death for the animal.
  5. Many pests will outsmart a simple trap set up. (ie. will not take the bait, avoid the trap altogether, destroy the trap).
  6. Decaying carcass odors/contamination can actually cause just as much damage to your home.
  7. Weather, and other conditions are torturous for animals to be left out in.
  8. In many cases in Ontario, trapping/relocation without approval is against the law.

Although killing a pest appears to be the easiest solution, it is definitely not. There are a number of significant drawbacks to killing wildlife instead of humane removal which will allow for the animal to relocate themselves along with their kin.
